Our Preschool Program

At Fairfield Child Development Center, our preschool program is built to help children grow in confidence, independence, and readiness for the next stage of learning. We provide a nurturing classroom experience where children are encouraged to explore, participate, ask questions, and build important early skills.

We understand that the preschool years are a time of tremendous growth. Children are learning how to communicate, manage emotions, follow routines, build friendships, and engage with the world around them. Our program is designed to support that growth in a way that is age-appropriate, meaningful, and engaging.

A balanced approach to early learning

Our classrooms combine structure and creativity so children can learn in ways that feel natural and enjoyable. We use a balanced preschool approach that includes teacher-guided learning, hands-on activities, group participation, and purposeful play.

  • Explore new ideas
  • Develop language and listening skills
  • Practice early literacy and math concepts
  • Strengthen social and emotional skills
  • Build independence and confidence
  • Learn through movement, art, music, and play

What children learn in our program

Early literacy

Children begin building foundations in letter recognition, sound awareness, vocabulary, listening, and communication.

Early math skills

Children are introduced to counting, patterns, sorting, shapes, and number concepts through hands-on activities.

Social and emotional development

We help children learn to share, take turns, solve simple conflicts, follow expectations, and participate as part of a group.

Fine motor and hands-on learning

Cutting, drawing, tracing, building, and manipulation activities help children strengthen coordination and school-readiness skills.

Creative expression

Art, dramatic play, music, and imaginative activities help children express themselves and enjoy learning.

Routine and independence

Daily routines help children feel secure while learning responsibility, self-help skills, and classroom confidence.

A caring classroom environment

We believe young children learn best in an environment where they feel safe, respected, and encouraged. Our teachers work to build trusting relationships with each child and create a classroom atmosphere that is both positive and structured.

Children benefit from clear expectations, warm guidance, and opportunities to practice new skills with support.

Learning that prepares children for what comes next

Our preschool program is intentionally designed to support future school success. We help children build the early academic, social, and behavioral foundations they need to move into kindergarten with confidence.
